Setup, Compatibility & Care
This stick timber is designed for straightforward use, but proper handling and care will ensure the best results and longevity.
Setup and Preparation:
- Safety First: Always wear appropriate safety gear, including safety glasses and gloves, when cutting or working with timber.
- Inspect Timber: Before use, inspect the timber for any imperfections or damage. While planed, natural wood can have minor variations.
- Marking: Clearly mark your cutting lines on the timber using a pencil and a reliable measuring tool.
Compatibility:
- Tools: Compatible with standard woodworking tools such as handsaws, jigsaws, miter saws, drills, and sandpaper.
- Fasteners: Works well with wood screws, nails, and various wood adhesives (e.g., PVA wood glue, construction adhesive).
- Finishes: Readily accepts most wood stains, paints, varnishes, and sealants.
Care and Storage:
- Indoor Storage: Store unused timber in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperature fluctuations, to prevent warping, bowing, or moisture damage.
- Keep Dry: Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or high humidity, as this can lead to swelling, mold, or decay.
- Cleaning: If needed, gently wipe the timber with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Protection: For outdoor or high-moisture applications, ensure the timber is properly treated with a suitable exterior wood finish or preservative.
