Setup, Compatibility & Care
Cutting: Due to the shifting nature of double gauze, use pattern weights rather than pins to secure your paper patterns. A rotary cutter on a stable surface is recommended for the cleanest edges.
Sewing: Use a universal needle size 70/10 or 80/12 to avoid snagging the fabric. A slightly longer stitch length (2.5mm to 3.0mm) is ideal for this loose-weave textile.
Care: Pre-wash the fabric before sewing to account for potential initial shrinkage. Machine wash on a gentle, cool cycle with like colors. Avoid harsh bleaches. Tumble dry on a low setting or hang to dry to preserve the texture of the dots. If ironing is necessary, press on the reverse side of the fabric to avoid flattening the swiss dots.
