FAQs
Is this food suitable for puppies?
No, Bozita Original Adult XL with Lamb - Wheat-Free is formulated for adult dogs over 1 year of age. Puppies have different nutritional requirements and should be fed a diet specifically designed for them.
How much should I feed my dog?
Feeding guidelines are typically provided on the packaging. These are starting points and should be adjusted based on your dog's age, weight, activity level, and metabolism. Consult the product's feeding chart or your veterinarian for personalized recommendations.
Can I feed this to my small breed dog?
This formula is specifically designed with XL kibble for large breeds. While not inherently harmful, the large kibble size may be difficult for small breed dogs to chew and digest properly.
What are the benefits of rosehip in dog food?
Rosehip is a natural source of antioxidants and vitamins. It is included in this formula to help support joint health, reduce inflammation, and strengthen the immune system.
Is this a grain-free product?
This product is wheat-free, making it suitable for dogs with wheat sensitivities. However, it is not a grain-free product and may contain other grains. Always check the full ingredient list if you require a strictly grain-free diet.
How should I store the dog food?
Store the food in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Ensure the original packaging is well-sealed after each use to maintain freshness and prevent moisture or air from degrading the quality.
What does 'normally active' mean for feeding guidelines?
'Normally active' typically refers to dogs that get regular daily exercise, such as a daily walk or playtime, but are not engaged in strenuous activities like agility training or working dog duties.
Troubleshooting
Dog refuses to eat the new food
Gradually transition to the new food over 7-10 days, mixing it with the old food. Ensure the food is stored correctly to maintain freshness and palatability.
Loose stools or digestive upset after switching
This can be a sign of a sensitive stomach. Slow down the transition period or consult your veterinarian. Ensure adequate water intake.
Kibble size seems too large for the dog
While designed for large breeds, some smaller large breeds or dogs with dental issues might struggle. Try soaking the kibble in a small amount of warm water for a few minutes before serving.
Food appears stale or unpalatable
Check the 'best before' date. Ensure the bag is properly sealed and stored in a cool, dry place. Consider using an airtight container for storage.
