FAQs

Does this chair require any tools to assemble?

No, the Garden Pride Folding Director Chair comes fully assembled and is ready to use straight out of the box.

How much does the chair weigh?

The chair is very lightweight, weighing only 2.1kg.

Can I leave this chair outside in the rain?

While the materials are weather-resistant, it is recommended to store the chair indoors or under cover when not in use to extend its lifespan and keep the fabric clean.

What are the dimensions of the chair when folded?

The chair is designed to fold flat, making it very thin for storage, though the footprint remains consistent with its expanded dimensions of W58cm x H78cm x D44cm.

Is this chair suitable for beach use?

Yes, its lightweight design makes it excellent for the beach, though you should wipe off sand from the frame joints after use to maintain smooth operation.

Troubleshooting

Chair feels stiff or difficult to open

Ensure the cross-braces are clear of any sand or debris and apply a light silicone-based lubricant to the pivot points.

Chair wobbles on uneven ground

Verify that all four legs are fully extended and the cross-braces are locked; reposition the chair slightly to find a flatter surface.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely lightweight and portable at only 2.1kg
No assembly required, ready to use out of the box
Folds flat for space-efficient storage
Classic and versatile aesthetic for home or outdoor use

Cons

Not intended for heavy-duty or industrial usage
Lack of integrated accessories like cup holders or storage pockets
Fixed backrest position may not suit everyone's lounging preference

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup is entirely tool-free; simply pull the sides of the seat apart to expand the frame until the cross-braces lock into place. To store, lift the seat frame or push the sides together to collapse it into its flat profile.

To ensure the longevity of your chair, keep the following care tips in mind:

Cleaning: Wipe the fabric seat and backrest with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid harsh chemical cleaners that may degrade the fabric.
Maintenance: Periodically check the joints and the metal frame for any debris or grit, especially after beach trips, and wipe down to prevent corrosion.
Storage: Always store in a dry location to prevent moisture buildup within the tubular frame or potential mildew on the fabric.
