Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility Check: Before installation, verify that your motherboard or laptop supports DDR5 SO-DIMM memory and the specific speed of 4800MHz. Check your device's manual or manufacturer's website for a Qualified Vendor List (QVL). Ensure the total memory capacity does not exceed your system's maximum supported limit.
Installation:
- Power off your device completely and unplug it from the power source.
- Ground yourself to prevent static discharge. This can be done by touching a metal object.
- Locate the SO-DIMM slot on your motherboard or laptop. This usually involves removing a panel or the entire bottom cover.
- Gently release the retaining clips on either side of the existing RAM module (if applicable).
- Align the notch on the new Hypertec memory module with the notch in the slot.
- Insert the module firmly at an angle (around 30-45 degrees) until the gold contacts are mostly covered.
- Push the module down towards the motherboard until the retaining clips snap into place, securing it.
- Reassemble your device and power it on.
Care: To maintain optimal performance and longevity, avoid exposing the module to extreme temperatures, moisture, or physical shock. Handle only by the edges to prevent damage to the pins or circuitry. Keep the inside of your device clean, especially the RAM slots, to ensure good contact and prevent overheating.
