Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Magnolia thrives, plant it in a sunny or partially shaded spot that remains sheltered from strong, drying winds. The soil should be fertile, moist, and well-drained.
- Dig a planting hole twice the width of the 3L pot.
- Incorporate organic matter to improve soil fertility if necessary.
- Position the tree so the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface.
- Backfill and firm the soil gently.
- Water thoroughly immediately after planting.
For ongoing care, water the tree regularly throughout the first growing season to ensure root establishment. Apply a layer of mulch around the base to help retain soil moisture. Pruning is rarely necessary, but if you must remove damaged or crossing branches, do so only after the flowering period has finished.
