Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation requires only that the downpipe is cut to the appropriate length so the shoe sits just above the ground surface. Simply push the shoe onto the pipe until the internal seal is engaged. No lubricants are typically required, but a thin layer of silicone grease can aid assembly on older pipes. For ongoing care, the material requires no painting; simply clean with a damp cloth if dirt accumulates. Inspect the joint annually to ensure the seal has not been dislodged by physical impact or thermal expansion. If you are working in a location with high foot traffic, you may choose to secure the connection with an industrial-strength solvent weld, though note that this will make future removal more difficult.
