Yes, the system is designed to support both seed germination and the propagation of stem cuttings.
The frequency depends on ambient temperature and humidity, but generally, check the reservoir every 3-5 days.
Yes, the 24 cells are designed to be removable and can be split to simplify the transplanting process.
Yes, the components are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning, though a gentle cycle is recommended.
No, the system functions entirely on a passive capillary wicking mechanism.
Over time, the matting may degrade. It is recommended to replace it if it becomes too thin or clogged with mineral deposits.
Ensure the capillary matting is fully touching the base tray water reservoir and is not obstructed by debris.
Rinse the matting with clean water and ensure the propagator is kept in an area with good air circulation to reduce humidity buildup.
Ensure all cells are seated correctly within the platform; if distorted, soak in warm water to reshape before full use.
To set up the system, place the capillary platform into the base tray and lay the capillary matting over it, ensuring the matting has contact with the tray bottom to draw up water. Insert the 24 cells onto the platform. Fill the reservoir with water until the matting is damp. For care, keep the unit in a well-lit area away from direct, scorching sun. Periodically check the reservoir level. After the growing season, remove the matting and rinse it thoroughly; the tray and cells can be washed in a dishwasher on a gentle cycle to prevent bacterial buildup for the next use.
