Setup, Compatibility & Care
To keep your Milwaukee snips in optimal working condition, follow these guidelines:
- Initial Setup: Ensure the one-hand locking mechanism is fully disengaged before use. Familiarize yourself with the markings on the handle to distinguish between left, right, and straight blades.
- Compatibility: Use these snips only on sheet metal, aluminum, and vinyl siding. Avoid using them to cut hardened steel wire, nails, or heavy-gauge bolts, as this will damage the precision edges.
- Care: Clean the blades periodically with a dry cloth to remove metal shavings. Apply a light machine oil to the pivot point and the torsion spring occasionally to maintain smooth action. Store in a dry environment to prevent corrosion of the cutting edges.
