FAQs
How often should I trim my pet's nails?
Generally, trim your pet's nails every 2-4 weeks, or as needed, to keep them at a comfortable length.
How do I know where to cut the nail?
Avoid cutting the quick (the pink part of the nail) as it contains blood vessels and nerves. Trim only the tip of the nail.
What should I do if I cut the quick?
If you accidentally cut the quick, apply styptic powder or cornstarch to stop the bleeding. If bleeding is excessive, consult with your vet.
Is this clipper suitable for all pets?
The Mikki Classic Pet Scissor Claw Clipper is suitable for most dogs and cats. If your pet has very thick nails, consider using a guillotine-style clipper.
How do I clean the clipper?
Wipe the blades with a dry cloth after each use. Avoid using water or harsh chemicals.
How do I store the clipper?
Store the clipper in a safe place, away from children and pets.
What if the clipper becomes dull?
You can sharpen the clipper blades or replace the clipper if they become dull.
