Yes, they are designed to be a reliable connection point between your winch line and the recovery strap or vehicle mount.
Yes, the 8-ton working load limit applies to each individual shackle in the set.
Yes, but using the included isolators is highly recommended to protect your vehicle finish from damage caused by movement.
While the finish is durable, you can touch up chips with a rust-preventative paint to maintain the aesthetic and protective seal.
The shackle is rated for 8 tons (16,000 lbs) working load, which exceeds the weight of most consumer vehicles, but always ensure your mounting points are equally rated.
Clean the threads of any grit, mud, or sand, then apply a small amount of thread lubricant.
Ensure the rubber isolator is properly seated against the shackle and the bumper.
Do not over-tighten the pin; use your hand to tighten it, then back it off a quarter turn to prevent seizing under load.
To install, simply unscrew the 7/8 inch pin from the shackle body, slide the shackle through your vehicle's recovery mount, and tighten the pin until secure. It is recommended to use the included washers to ensure the shackle stays centered and the isolator to provide a snug fit against your bumper.
For care, periodically inspect the threads of the pin for grit or debris. A quick rinse with fresh water after off-roading will maintain the integrity of the powder coat. If you plan to store the shackles for long periods, apply a light coat of lubricant to the pin threads to maintain smooth operation.
