The Iris Metallic Mixture is ideal for gardeners looking to add exotic, vibrant color to their outdoor spaces during late spring and early summer. These hardy Dutch Iris bulbs offer a stunning range of purple, maroon, and yellow blooms that stand tall and perform well in beds, borders, or patio containers. While they are famously easy to cultivate and return each year, they require well-draining soil to prevent rot, making site selection critical for successful growth.

No, these are hardy bulbs and can remain in the ground year-round provided the soil is well-drained.
Yes, they thrive in containers provided the pot has good drainage.
Space the bulbs approximately 10cm apart.
Check if the soil is too wet or if the bulbs were planted too deeply.
Ensure the bulbs have adequate sunlight and were not overcrowded during planting.
For best results, plant your bulbs in autumn. Dig a hole at a depth approximately twice the height of the bulb and space them 10cm apart. Ensure the soil is free-draining; if your soil is heavy or clay-like, mix in horticultural grit to improve drainage. Once planted, keep the soil moist but not waterlogged throughout the growing season. After the flowers have faded, allow the foliage to die back naturally to nourish the bulb for next year's growth.
