FAQs

Can I use Liquitex Flexible Modeling Paste on paper?

Yes, but be aware that excessive use on thinner paper may cause it to warp. It's recommended to use thicker paper or prime the paper surface before application.

How long does it take for the paste to dry?

Drying time depends on the thickness of the application and environmental conditions. Thin layers may dry within a few hours, while thicker applications can take several days.

Is the paste waterproof?

Once dry, the paste is water-resistant but not entirely waterproof. For added protection, consider applying a varnish or sealant.

Can I sand the paste after it dries?

Yes, once completely dry, you can sand the paste to refine the texture or remove imperfections.

How should I store the paste?

Store the paste in its original container, tightly sealed, at room temperature. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.

Can I use this paste with oil paints?

While the paste is designed for use with acrylics, you can use it as a base for oil painting. However, ensure that the acrylic paste is completely dry before applying oil paints.

Troubleshooting

Cracking occurs after drying.

Apply in thinner layers, and ensure the surface is flexible. Allow sufficient drying time between layers.

Paste is too thick to apply smoothly.

Thin the paste slightly with a small amount of water, or mix it with a compatible acrylic medium.

Difficulty blending with acrylic paints.

Mix the paste and paint thoroughly before application. Use a palette knife or brush to blend until a uniform color and texture are achieved.
