The B&Q Universal Water & Gas Tank Mounting Kit is designed for DIY enthusiasts and professional installers seeking a secure, long-term fastening solution for underfloor tanks in campervans, caravans, and motorhomes. Its primary benefit is the inclusion of robust, zinc-plated components that prioritize structural integrity and corrosion resistance, though it is specifically optimized for underfloor mounting, which may require specific clearance considerations for different vehicle chassis types.

Yes, the universal design is capable of securing both water and gas tanks, provided they are compatible with the mounting hardware specifications.
While the components are durable, always ensure the installation does not protrude below the lowest point of your chassis to avoid impact damage.
The kit includes all necessary fixings and is designed for intuitive use, though it is intended for those with basic DIY or mechanical experience.
The components are zinc-plated, which provides a high degree of corrosion resistance suitable for under-vehicle environments.
Standard workshop tools like wrenches, sockets, and potentially a drill for mounting into the vehicle floor are usually sufficient.
Verify that all nuts and bolts were tightened correctly during the pre-assembly phase and ensure no components were omitted.
Check if your tank requires specific spacers or brackets; the universal nature of the kit may require minor adjustments for non-standard tank shapes.
Before starting your installation, verify that your chassis has sufficient ground clearance to accommodate the tank once the mounting kit is attached. Begin by performing a dry fit of the brackets to your tank while outside the vehicle. Once aligned, secure the hardware according to your specific tank mounting points. To ensure long-term performance, regularly inspect the fittings for tightness during your annual service. While the zinc-plated components are resistant to rust, applying a thin coat of underseal or anti-corrosion spray can provide an extra layer of protection against extreme road conditions.
