FAQs

What is the primary benefit of Goodyear Assurance Comforttred tires?

The primary benefit is exceptional ride comfort, achieved through the ComforTred Technology which provides superior cushioning against road imperfections.

Are these tires suitable for heavy snow or winter conditions?

The Assurance Comforttred offers reliable all-season traction, including light snow. For severe winter conditions, dedicated winter tires are recommended.

How does the ComforTred Technology work?

It involves a layer of rubber sandwiched between the tread and steel belts that acts as a shock absorbent, reducing vibration and impact from the road.

What does the '92V XL' mean in the tire size?

'92' is the load index, indicating the maximum weight the tire can carry. 'V' is the speed rating, representing the maximum speed the tire can sustain. 'XL' stands for Extra Load, meaning it has a higher load-carrying capacity than a standard load tire of the same size.

How often should I rotate my Goodyear Assurance Comforttred tires?

It is generally recommended to rotate tires every 6,000 to 8,000 miles to ensure even tread wear and maximize their lifespan.

Can I use these tires on any type of vehicle?

These tires are specifically designed for passenger vehicles like luxury coupes and sedans and are compatible with vehicles that require the 225/40 R18 92V XL size. Always confirm your vehicle's specifications.

What is the expected tread life for these tires?

While specific tread life varies with driving habits and conditions, the Assurance Comforttred is designed for long wear, benefiting from its durable construction and tread design.

Troubleshooting

Uneven tire wear

Check wheel alignment, tire pressure, and ensure tires are rotated regularly. Consider having suspension components inspected.

Increased road noise over time

Inspect tires for embedded objects. Ensure proper inflation and consider tire rotation. Uneven wear can also contribute to noise.

Reduced ride comfort

Verify tire pressure is at the recommended level. Check for any damage to the tire or wheel that might be affecting cushioning. Ensure no foreign objects are lodged in the tread.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional ride comfort due to ComforTred Technology.
  • Quiet and smooth driving experience.
  • Reliable all-season traction, including light snow.
  • Durable construction for long tread life.
  • Equipped as original equipment on luxury vehicles.

Cons

  • May offer less aggressive handling compared to sport-oriented tires.

  • Not designed for extreme off-road or severe winter conditions.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions

Setup: These tires are designed to be mounted onto standard wheel rims by a professional tire installer. Proper inflation is crucial and should be checked regularly according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations, usually found on a sticker in the driver's side doorjamb or in the owner's manual.

Compatibility: The Goodyear Assurance Comforttred in size 225/40 R18 92V XL is compatible with vehicles that specify this tire size and load/speed rating. This size is common on many modern coupes and sedans. Always verify your vehicle's tire size requirements before purchasing.

Care: To ensure longevity and optimal performance:

  • Regularly check tire pressure and adjust as needed.
  • Visually inspect tires for any signs of damage, embedded objects, or uneven wear.
  • Rotate tires periodically (e.g., every 6,000-8,000 miles) to promote even tread wear.
  • Maintain proper wheel alignment and vehicle suspension to prevent premature tire wear.
