Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Prepare Your Workspace: Ensure a well-ventilated area. Lay down newspaper or a protective sheet to guard surfaces.
- Gather Materials: Have your brushes, palette, water container, and chosen surface (canvas, paper, wood, etc.) ready.
- Shake Tube: Gently shake the paint tube before opening to ensure uniform consistency.
- Dispense Paint: Squeeze a small amount onto your palette. You can always add more as needed.
Compatibility
Art Studio Acrylic Paint is highly compatible with a wide range of surfaces and other mediums:
- Surfaces: Excellent adhesion to canvas, wood, paper, cardboard, primed metal, fabric, and ceramic.
- Mixing: Can be freely mixed with other acrylic paints to create custom colors. Compatible with acrylic mediums (e.g., flow improvers, gloss mediums, retarders) to alter working properties or finish.
Care
- Brush Care: Clean brushes immediately after use with soap and water to prevent paint from drying and hardening in the bristles. Reshape bristles and allow to air dry.
- Palette Care: Clean your palette thoroughly after each painting session. Dried acrylic can be difficult to remove.
- Paint Storage: Store tubes upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure caps are tightly secured to prevent drying.
- Surface Preparation: For best results, ensure your painting surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or oils. Priming porous surfaces like canvas or wood with gesso is recommended for optimal paint adhesion and longevity.
