FAQs

What is the maximum weight capacity of the Chair Zero LT?

The Helinox Chair Zero LT can hold a maximum weight of 120 kg (265 lbs) when properly assembled.

How much does the chair weigh?

The trail weight (chair only) is 494 grams (1.1 lb), and the packed weight (with bag) is 534 grams (1.2 lb).

Is the X-strap stabilizer always necessary?

The X-strap is included for enhanced stability, especially on soft or uneven terrain. While not strictly mandatory for use on firm, flat ground, it is recommended for optimal stability and preventing sinkage.

Can I wash the chair fabric in a washing machine?

It is recommended to clean the fabric with a damp cloth and mild soap. Machine washing is not advised as it may damage the fabric or frame components.

What are the packed dimensions of the chair?

The chair packs down into a compact carry case measuring approximately 14 inches in length and 4.5 inches in both width and height (36cm x 12cm x 12cm).

What makes the GhostGrid™ fabric special?

GhostGrid™ is a next-generation fabric featuring a translucent monofilament grid ripstop. It is designed to be exceptionally lightweight, abrasion-resistant, strong, and durable, while also preventing small tears from spreading.

Is this chair suitable for children?

While the chair is lightweight and compact, its design and weight capacity are optimized for adult use. It can be used by older children, but supervision is recommended.

Troubleshooting

Chair feels unstable

Ensure the X-strap is attached and properly distributed on the ground. Make sure all frame poles are fully seated in their hubs and the seat fabric is taut.

Difficulty assembling frame

Ensure the poles are aligned correctly. The shock-cord should guide them together smoothly. If a pole seems stuck, gently twist it while pushing.

Fabric not stretching taut

Double-check that all corners of the seat fabric are fully attached to the frame hubs. Ensure the frame is correctly assembled and the poles are fully extended.

Chair seems wobbly after prolonged use

Inspect the nylon resin hubs for cracks and the aluminum poles for bends. Contact Helinox customer support if any component appears damaged.

Pros and Cons

Cons

  • Minimalist design may lack the plush comfort of heavier chairs.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Unpack the chair and identify the shock-corded frame poles and the seat fabric.
  2. Assemble the DAC aluminum alloy frame by connecting the poles. The shock-cord mechanism will guide them into place.
  3. Attach the X-strap stabilizer to the underside of the seat if desired for added stability.
  4. Align the corners of the seat fabric with the hubs of the assembled frame and pull the fabric down until it is taut.

Compatibility:

  • The Chair Zero LT is designed for most standard outdoor terrain. The X-strap enhances compatibility with soft surfaces like sand, dirt, and grass.
  • It is compatible with its own proprietary carry case for transport and storage.

Care:

  • Clean the fabric using a damp cloth with mild soap if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Allow the chair to air dry completely before storing it to prevent mildew.
  • Store the chair in its carry case in a dry place.
  • Periodically check the frame poles and fabric for any signs of wear or damage.
