The Smeg FAB28RDPP6 is an ideal choice for homeowners looking to combine iconic, retro-inspired aesthetics with modern cooling efficiency. Designed for those who value style as much as performance, this freestanding unit features a 244L fridge capacity and a specialized Life Plus 0°C drawer to extend the freshness of perishable items. While it offers impressive design and quiet, energy-efficient operation, potential buyers should note that the door is not reversible and requires a specific 175mm clearance on the hinge side to function correctly.

No, this model features a fixed right-hand hinge and cannot be reversed.
Yes, the fridge section features automatic defrosting for user convenience.
The fridge consumes approximately 139 kWh per year.
It is designed for room temperatures between 10°C and 43°C; avoid storage in uninsulated spaces where temperatures drop below 10°C.
Yes, while the main fridge section is automatic, the 26L freezer compartment is a standard 4-star compartment that may require manual defrosting over time.
Yes, the soft-touch finish can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth, but avoid abrasive sponges or aggressive chemicals.
Check the internal thermostat settings and ensure the door is closed completely. Verify that food items are not blocking the air vents.
Ensure the appliance is level on the floor. Slight operational hums from the compressor and airflow are normal, but rattling may indicate an uneven installation.
Check if the power connection is secure. If the unit has power but no light, the LED module may require professional replacement.
When installing your Smeg fridge, ensure it is placed on a level surface; the adjustable feet help stabilize the unit on uneven floors. For safety and performance, do not place the fridge near heat sources or in direct sunlight. Because this unit is not a built-in model, it requires proper ventilation space around the sides and back to prevent overheating. Most importantly, when positioning the fridge next to a wall or cupboard, leave a 175mm gap on the hinge side so the door can swing open fully to access the drawers and shelves. To care for the soft-touch exterior, use a soft, damp cloth with mild, non-abrasive soap; avoid harsh chemical cleaners that may damage the unique finish.
