This guide is for crafters and DIY enthusiasts looking for a versatile base for personalized gifts and decor. The key benefit is the ready-to-decorate nature of the MDF hearts, allowing for endless creative possibilities. A minor caveat is that the material requires careful handling and appropriate finishing techniques for durability. This product offers a pack of three heart-shaped MDF plaques, each with pre-drilled holes for easy hanging and layering, ideal for various occasions and home decoration projects.

Each heart has two holes. You can thread ribbon through the top hole to hang the first heart, and then thread the same ribbon through the bottom hole of the first heart and the top hole of the second heart to create a connected, hanging chain.
Each heart measures approximately 8cm in length, 8cm in width, and 0.3cm in depth.
While possible, it's not recommended for long-term outdoor use unless thoroughly sealed and protected from weather elements, as MDF can degrade with moisture.
MDF stands for Medium-Density Fibreboard, an engineered wood product made from wood fibres, usually used in furniture and craft projects. It offers a smooth surface ideal for painting and decorating.
Each pack contains three heart-shaped MDF plaques.
Priming is not strictly necessary as MDF is a good surface for acrylics and poster paints, but a primer can help achieve a more uniform colour and finish, especially with lighter paints.
A general-purpose craft glue, hot glue gun (on a low setting), or PVA glue are typically suitable for attaching embellishments to MDF.
Ensure the MDF surface is clean and free from dust. Lightly sanding the surface before painting can improve adhesion.
Carefully enlarge the holes using a small drill bit or a craft knife. Ensure any enlargement is done symmetrically.
Gently sand the edges with fine-grit sandpaper before decorating to achieve a smoother finish.
Ensure the paint or base layer is completely dry before applying decoupage or sealant. Use a compatible sealant suitable for MDF.
Setup: The hearts are ready to use out of the package. Simply thread ribbon, string, or twine through the pre-drilled holes to hang them. For layered effects, thread one heart's top hole with the next heart's bottom hole.
Compatibility: These MDF hearts are compatible with most common craft supplies, including:
Care: To ensure longevity, it is recommended to seal the decorated hearts with a varnish or sealant, especially if they will be exposed to moisture or frequent handling. Store in a dry environment. Clean any dust or smudges with a dry or slightly damp cloth; avoid soaking the MDF.
