Troubleshooting

Uneven burning or tunneling

Ensure the wick is trimmed to 1/4 inch before each burn. Allow the wax pool to reach the edges of the jar during the first burn and subsequent burns if possible.

Weak scent throw

Check that the wick is trimmed and the candle has burned long enough for the wax pool to form. Ensure the room is not excessively drafty, which can disperse the scent too quickly.

Sooting or black smoke

Trim the wick to 1/4 inch. Avoid burning the candle in a drafty area. If soot has accumulated on the jar, carefully extinguish the flame, let it cool, and wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the best experience with your Yankee Candle Signature Soft Blanket - White, follow these guidelines:

  1. First Burn: Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar on the first use to prevent tunneling. This typically takes 2-4 hours.
  2. Wick Maintenance: Trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch before each use. This helps prevent smoking and sooting, ensuring a cleaner burn.
  3. Burn Time: Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the wax to cool and solidify before relighting.
  4. Vessel Care: Once the candle is fully used, the glass jar can be cleaned and repurposed.
  5. Placement: Always place the candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, flammable materials, children, and pets.
