The OKODOKO M14 X 1.5 Tap and Drill Bit Set is designed for metalworkers, mechanics, and serious DIY enthusiasts who require precise metric thread cutting for through-hole applications. Its primary benefit is the combination of a high-performance straight flute tap paired with a specialized black oxide drill bit, ensuring smooth, accurate results with minimal friction. A notable caveat is that the straight flute design is optimized for through-holes, meaning it may struggle with blind-hole applications where chip evacuation is more complex.

No, this set features a straight flute tap designed specifically for through-holes. Using it for blind holes may cause chips to jam.
The set includes a 12.5mm black oxide drill bit.
No, the set provides the specific tap and drill bit. You will need to use your own tap wrench or T-handle for the tapping process.
It is designed for general-purpose metalworking applications requiring metric thread cutting.
Wipe them clean of all debris after use, apply a light coat of machine oil, and store them in a dry, moisture-free container.
Back the tap out completely, clear all accumulated metal chips from the hole, and re-apply tapping fluid before continuing.
Ensure you are using the correct speed and sufficient cutting oil; check that the drill bit created a perfectly straight hole.
Reduce the drill press speed and increase the amount of lubricant used during the drilling process.
To achieve the best results, ensure your workpiece is securely clamped to a stable surface or drill press. Use a slow, steady speed for drilling, and apply consistent downward pressure. When tapping, turn the tap in small increments—approximately a half-turn forward followed by a quarter-turn backward—to break off chips and prevent binding. After each use, wipe the tools clean of metal shavings and apply a light coat of machine oil before storing them in a dry, organized tool box to prevent rust and maintain cutting integrity.
