FAQs

What type of surfaces can I clean with the Nilfisk Classic 140?

This pressure washer is suitable for a variety of domestic outdoor surfaces including patios, driveways, garden furniture, vehicles, bicycles, and walls. Always use the appropriate nozzle for the surface type (gentle nozzle for delicate areas).

How do I ensure the longevity of the aluminium pump?

To maintain the aluminium pump, always ensure a consistent water supply during operation to prevent it from running dry. After use, disconnect the water and power, release pressure, and store the unit in a dry place. Regularly check and clean the water inlet filter.

What is the maximum area this pressure washer can clean?

The Nilfisk Classic 140 is rated to clean areas up to 40 square meters per hour, making it ideal for medium-sized properties.

Can I use this pressure washer for commercial cleaning tasks?

No, this product is specifically designed and intended for normal domestic cleaning purposes only. The warranty applies exclusively to products used for domestic use.

How do I attach the foam sprayer?

The 500 ml foam sprayer attaches directly to the spray lance. Fill the bottle with your preferred detergent and water mixture, then attach it to the lance before use. It's ideal for pre-soaking cars or applying cleaning solutions to patios.

What is the length of the included high-pressure hose?

The Nilfisk Classic 140 comes with a 6-meter Ultraflex high-pressure hose, providing good reach for most domestic cleaning tasks.

Where should I store the Nilfisk Classic 140 when not in use?

It features smart onboard storage for its accessories. For long-term storage, especially during winter, it should be kept in a dry, frost-free location to protect it from the elements.

Troubleshooting

Pressure washer won't start.

Check that the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Ensure the water supply is turned on and the hose is properly connected. Verify that the G3 gun trigger is being squeezed.

Low water pressure or inconsistent spray.

Ensure the water supply is fully turned on and the garden hose is not kinked. Check the water filter at the inlet for blockages and clean it. Verify that the correct nozzle is attached and not clogged.

Water leaking from connections.

Check that all hose connections (garden hose to inlet, high-pressure hose to machine and gun) are tight and properly seated. Ensure the O-rings on the connections are intact.

Motor stops during use.

The unit may have overheated. Allow it to cool down for 10-15 minutes before restarting. Ensure there is an adequate water supply to prevent the pump from running dry.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Connect the high-pressure hose to the pressure washer and the spray gun.
  2. Attach the desired nozzle to the spray lance.
  3. Connect a standard garden hose (with sufficient water flow) to the water inlet on the pressure washer.
  4. Ensure the power cord is connected to a suitable outdoor electrical outlet.
  5. Turn on the water supply and briefly squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to release any air from the system before starting the motor.

Compatibility:

  • Requires a standard UK mains electrical socket.
  • Requires a standard garden hose connection with a minimum water supply rate to ensure optimal performance.

Care:

  • After each use, disconnect the water supply and electrical power.
  • Release any remaining pressure by squeezing the trigger.
  • Store the spray gun, lance, nozzles, and hose in the onboard storage compartments.
  • Store the pressure washer in a dry, frost-free area when not in use for extended periods.
  • Periodically check the water filter for debris and clean as necessary.
  • Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth if it becomes dirty.
