Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Identify your vehicle's existing tailpipe diameter. The "Medium (XSI)" designation typically refers to a specific range of diameters, often indicated in brackets in product listings (e.g., 'fits 51mm-63mm' if that were the specification). Always verify this before purchase.
- Clean the existing tailpipe to ensure a smooth surface for the trim.
- Slide the E-Tech Engineering exhaust trim over the existing tailpipe. Ensure it is positioned correctly and evenly.
- Tighten the internal clamps securely using a screwdriver or appropriate tool. Check that the trim is firmly attached and does not move.
Compatibility:
This trim is designed to fit over standard, non-complex exhaust tailpipes. The key is matching the trim's internal diameter range with your vehicle's tailpipe diameter. Check the specific dimensions provided by the retailer for the "Medium (XSI)" size to ensure a proper fit. It is not designed for integrated or unusually shaped factory exhaust tips.
Care:
To maintain the polished finish, regularly clean the trim with a soft cloth and mild automotive soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, which can scratch or dull the stainless steel. For stubborn dirt, a damp microfiber cloth is usually sufficient. Occasional polishing with a dedicated stainless steel cleaner can restore shine.
