FAQs

Can I use the USB and XLR outputs at the same time?

No, the AM8 is designed to use one output connection at a time. Using both may cause signal interference.

Does this microphone require phantom power?

No, when using the USB mode, it is powered by the computer. In XLR mode, it is a dynamic microphone and does not require +48V phantom power.

Is the microphone compatible with boom arms?

Yes, the AM8 features standard threading compatible with most industry-standard boom arms and microphone stands.

How do I change the RGB colors?

You can cycle through the colors and modes using the button located on the microphone body.

Does it work with gaming consoles?

Yes, the AM8 is compatible with PS5 and other consoles that support plug-and-play USB microphones.

Troubleshooting

Microphone not detected by computer in USB mode

Ensure the USB cable is firmly seated at both ends and try a different USB port on your computer, preferably one directly on the motherboard.

Audio is too quiet even with gain turned up

Ensure you are speaking close to the mic as it is a dynamic capsule. If using XLR, ensure your audio interface phantom power or gain settings are properly adjusted.

RGB lighting is stuck or not responding

Disconnect the USB power for 10 seconds and reconnect it to reset the internal controller.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up via USB, simply connect the included cable to your PC or Mac; the system will recognize it as a standard audio device. For XLR, connect a standard 3-pin XLR cable to your preferred audio interface. When cleaning the microphone, use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using liquid cleaners near the capsule. If using the included pop filter, ensure it is securely attached to minimize plosives. When not in use, store the mic in a dust-free environment or cover it to prevent debris from entering the mesh grill.
