The Fisher & Paykel CI905ZZDTB5 is a premium 90cm induction hob designed for serious home cooks who demand precision, flexibility, and a sleek aesthetic. It is perfect for large families or frequent entertainers who utilize multiple pans simultaneously, offering two flexible SmartZones that accommodate large or irregular cookware. Yes, cast iron works perfectly with induction as long as the base is flat and magnetic.
A SmartZone allows you to link two cooking zones together to create a larger area, perfect for large roasters or griddles.
Induction does not heat the glass directly, but it can absorb heat from the cookware. Residual heat indicators will show if a zone is still warm to the touch.
Consult your specific model manual, but generally, this involves holding a dedicated lock icon or a specific combination of buttons on the touch interface for several seconds.
Please refer to the installation manual regarding clearance and ventilation requirements; usually, a specific distance or barrier is required between the hob and other appliances.
Ensure the cookware is induction-compatible (magnetic) and centered correctly within the zone. Check the child lock status on the display.
This is often a safety feature triggered by overheating or a spill on the controls. Clean the control interface and ensure the unit has proper ventilation underneath.
Installation of the CI905ZZDTB5 should be performed by a qualified electrician, as the 10400W power requirement necessitates a robust connection to your home's main power supply. Ensure the countertop cutout dimensions are accurate to the manufacturer's technical specifications for a flush fit. Regarding compatibility, all cookware must be induction-compatible—if a magnet sticks to the bottom of your pan, it will work with this hob. To care for the black glass surface, avoid using abrasive scrubbers. A standard glass cooktop cleaner and a microfiber cloth are sufficient to remove spills, and it is best to clean the surface after every use to prevent burnt-on residues.
