Product Information

Full details

The Aqua Quality AQ-100 water filter is designed for users with InSinkErator systems who seek a cost-effective alternative to proprietary filters. It significantly improves water taste by reducing chlorine by up to 98% and removes sediment, rust, and other impurities. A key benefit is its built-in scale inhibitor, which protects appliances from limescale. However, it's essential to confirm compatibility with your specific InSinkErator model or filter head type.

FAQs

How often should I replace the Aqua Quality AQ-100 filter?

It is recommended to replace the filter cartridge every 6 months for optimal performance and water quality. Replace sooner if you notice a significant decrease in water flow or a decline in water taste.

Is this filter compatible with my InSinkErator system?

The AQ-100 is compatible with InSinkErator systems using the "Neo Tank" with an A1 or A3 filter head, and is a direct replacement for models F-701R and F-201R. Please verify you have an A1 or A3 head type.

What does the scale inhibitor do?

The scale inhibitor uses polyphosphate media to reduce the minerals (calcium and magnesium) that cause limescale. This helps protect your connected appliances, such as boiling water taps, from scale buildup.

Can I use this filter for hot water?

This filter is designed for cold water lines only. It filters the water before it reaches your hot water dispenser or kettle.

What contaminants does this filter remove?

The filter effectively removes chlorine (up to 98%), sediment, rust, turbidity, and other impurities that affect taste and odor. It also reduces limescale-causing minerals.

Why is the water flow reduced after installing the new filter?

A slight reduction in flow can be normal initially as the filter beds in. If the flow remains very slow after flushing, ensure the filter is correctly installed and that the water supply is fully open. If the problem persists, the filter may be defective or clogged.

Troubleshooting

No water flow or very slow flow

Ensure the filter is correctly seated and locked into the filter head. Check that the water supply is fully turned on. The filter may be clogged and require replacement, especially if it has been in use for longer than 6 months.

Water still tastes or smells bad

Verify the filter has been properly flushed after installation. Ensure the correct filter model is installed and that it hasn't reached the end of its lifespan. Check for any cross-contamination points in the system.

Filter head is leaking after installation

Remove the filter and re-install it, ensuring it clicks securely into place. Check the O-rings on the filter head for damage. Ensure no debris is present on the filter head seal.
