The Foris Fast Growing Lawn Seed is designed for homeowners looking to establish a new lawn or repair bare patches with minimal waiting time. Spring (April to May) and early autumn (September to October) are the ideal times when soil temperatures are warm and rainfall is consistent.
Yes, it is perfectly suited for both starting new lawns and overseeding or repairing bare patches in existing lawns.
Yes, the blend is designed for heavy traffic and pet-friendly gardens, though it is recommended to keep pets off the area until the first mow.
Keep the soil moist to the touch at all times for the first 14 days. Use a light misting to avoid washing the seeds away.
Wait until the grass blades have reached a height of at least 5-7cm, and ensure your mower blade is sharp to avoid tearing the young roots.
Check soil moisture levels; if the soil dried out during the first two weeks, germination will be stunted. Ensure temperatures are above 10°C.
Cover the newly seeded area with a thin layer of compost or a garden net to protect the seeds from wildlife until they establish.
Ensure seeds were spread evenly during sowing; if patchiness persists, lightly re-seed the sparse areas and maintain moisture.
To prepare your ground, clear any weeds and stones, then loosen the top 5-10cm of soil with a rake. Spread the seeds at the recommended rate of 1.4kg per 93 square meters. After sowing, gently firm the soil with a light roller or by walking over it to ensure the seeds are not exposed to wind or birds. Water the area immediately with a fine mist spray and keep the soil consistently damp—but not waterlogged—for the first two weeks. Avoid heavy foot traffic on the seeded area until the grass reaches a height of at least 5-7cm before the first mow.
