Setup, Compatibility & Care
To start your seeds, sow them 1.5mm deep in high-quality seed compost. Place the tray in an environment kept between 20-25C (70-75F) to ensure germination, which typically occurs within 7 to 21 days; note that slightly cooler nighttime temperatures can actually improve results. Once seedlings are large enough, transplant them into 7.5cm pots. Before moving them to their permanent outdoor position in late spring, ensure you gradually acclimatize them to outdoor conditions. Space plants 30cm apart in soil that stays moist but drains well to prevent root rot. Keep the soil enriched with organic matter for best results in full sun or semi-shade locations.
