Product Information

Full details

Triplewax Dash Shine is designed for car owners looking to restore their vehicle's interior trim to a factory-fresh condition without the use of harsh silicones. This formula excels at lifting ingrained dirt from dashboards and plastic surfaces while providing a subtle satin finish that prevents cracking and fading. While it is highly effective on most hard surfaces, it is important to note that it should never be applied to steering wheels or foot pedals, as it may create a slippery and unsafe surface.

FAQs

Can I use this on my leather seats?

This product is specifically formulated for plastic and vinyl interior trim. It is not recommended for use on leather.

Why can't I use this on my steering wheel?

The formula leaves a protective finish that can be slippery, which could compromise your grip while driving.

Is the finish high-gloss?

No, it leaves a rich, natural satin finish rather than a high-gloss, greasy shine.

How often should I apply this?

You can use it as often as needed to maintain cleanliness, though a light wipe-down every few weeks is generally sufficient.

Will this stain my fabric upholstery if I get it on there by mistake?

It is best to blot the area immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Being water-based, it is usually easy to manage, but you should avoid direct application to fabric.

Troubleshooting

Streaking on the dashboard surface

You likely used too much product. Use a clean, dry microfibre cloth to buff the area until the streak disappears.

Overspray on vehicle glass

Wipe the glass immediately with a damp cloth or a dedicated glass cleaner to prevent film buildup.

Product doesn't remove very heavy, caked-on mud

Use a soft-bristled brush to gently loosen the debris before wiping with the Dash Shine-dampened cloth.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Non-greasy, natural-looking satin finish
  • Easy to apply with a simple spray-and-wipe method
  • Pleasant citrus fragrance refreshes vehicle interior
  • Water-based formula is safe for most modern vehicle interiors
  • Prevents long-term damage like cracking and fading

Cons

  • Not suitable for steering wheels or foot pedals due to safety concerns
  • Requires careful application near glass or fabric to avoid overspray
  • Does not provide a high-gloss finish if that is preferred by the user

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To begin using your Triplewax Dash Shine, start by shaking the bottle thoroughly to ensure the ingredients are properly mixed. Always test the product on a small, hidden section of your dashboard first to confirm the surface is colourfast.

Application Steps:

  1. Shake the bottle well.
  2. Lightly spray the target surface (or your cloth).
  3. Wipe firmly with a clean microfibre cloth to lift dirt.
  4. Use a second dry cloth to buff away any excess liquid, leaving a uniform satin finish.

Keep the bottle stored in an upright position in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight to maintain the integrity of the formula.
