Full details
The Kapro 946 Smarty Pocket Level is designed for professionals and DIY enthusiasts who need a compact and accurate leveling tool on the go. Its primary benefit is providing precise readings up to 2% with a durable cast aluminum body and strong magnets. FAQs
What is the accuracy of this level?
The Kapro 946 Smarty Pocket Level has an accuracy of ±0.5mm/m.
Can this level be used for vertical measurements?
This level is primarily designed for horizontal measurements. While you can use it to check for plumb by rotating it 90 degrees, it does not have a dedicated vertical vial.
How does the OPTIVISION red vial with gradients work?
The OPTIVISION vial is a specially designed horizontal vial that is tilted. It provides excellent visibility and includes markings (gradients) up to 2% to help you easily achieve or identify slight slopes or inclinations.
What material is the body made of?
The body of the Kapro 946 Smarty Pocket Level is made of durable cast aluminum.
How do I attach it to my belt?
The level features an integrated belt clip on the back, allowing you to easily attach it to a pocket or tool belt for quick access.
Are the magnets strong enough for overhead work?
The level uses strong rare earth magnets, which provide a secure hold on ferrous metal surfaces. For overhead work, always ensure a firm connection and consider using a secondary safety measure if there is any risk of falling.
What are the dimensions of the level?
The level measures 10 cm (4 inches) in length.
Troubleshooting
Bubble is not centered for a level surface.
Ensure the surface the level is resting on is truly level. Check the vial for any visible damage. If the vial appears damaged or the bubble consistently reads incorrectly on known level surfaces, the level may need recalibration or replacement.
Magnets do not hold the level securely.
Ensure the metal surface is clean and free of debris, rust, or paint that could interfere with magnetic contact. The magnets are strong, but require direct contact with a suitable ferrous metal surface.
Vial is difficult to read.
Ensure the vial is clean and free of smudges. The OPTIVISION red vial is designed for enhanced visibility, but optimal reading conditions involve adequate lighting.
Pros and Cons
Pros

- Convenient belt clip for easy carrying.
Cons
- Small size may be less comfortable for some users.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: This level requires no setup. It is ready to use straight out of the box.
Compatibility: The Kapro 946 is a manual measuring tool and is compatible with all standard construction and DIY tasks requiring horizontal leveling.
Care: To maintain accuracy and longevity:
- Cleaning: Wipe the level clean with a soft, damp cloth after each use. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they can damage the milled surface or vial.
- Storage: Store the level in a dry place, away from extreme temperatures. Ensure the vial is protected from direct impact.
- Vial Care: Do not attempt to open or clean the vial itself. If damage is suspected, the unit should be replaced.
