FAQs
What type of bird seed should I use?
The feeder is suitable for most standard bird seed mixes. For attracting small birds, consider mixes with smaller seeds like nyjer, millet, or sunflower hearts.
How often should I clean the feeder?
It is recommended to clean the feeder at least every two weeks, or more frequently if it becomes visibly dirty or wet, to maintain bird health.
What is the seed capacity of the feeder?
The Gardman Aura Small Bird Feeder can hold up to 200g of bird seed.
Can this feeder be used in winter?
Yes, this feeder can be used year-round. Ensure it is kept clean and filled, especially during colder months when food sources are scarce.
What is the warranty period?
The product includes a 1-month manufacturer guarantee.
How do I deter squirrels?
This feeder is designed to deter larger birds, but may not be effective against squirrels. Consider using a squirrel baffle if this is a concern.
Troubleshooting
Feeder is not attracting any birds.
Ensure the feeder is placed in an open area, approximately 2 meters from cover, and that the seed type is appropriate for local small bird species. Clean the feeder if it appears dirty.
Larger birds are dominating the feeder.
The feeder is designed to deter larger birds. Ensure it is hung at a height that makes it less accessible to larger species if possible, or consider positioning it in a location less frequented by them.
Seed is getting wet and spoiling.
While the design offers some protection, it is susceptible to rain. Try to position it under slight shelter if possible, or ensure it is cleaned and refilled regularly after wet periods.
