No, this is a single-use silver oxide battery. Attempting to recharge it can cause leakage or damage.
It is an industry-standard designation referring to the physical size, chemistry (Silver Oxide), and low-drain discharge profile.
If your digital watch manual specifies the SR63 or 379 battery type, this cell is perfectly compatible.
Store in their original packaging in a cool, dry location away from metal objects that could cause a short circuit.
Varta produces these cells according to modern environmental standards, which typically exclude mercury.
A drop in voltage usually manifests as the watch losing time or the device failing to power on entirely.
Ensure the battery is fully seated in the terminal and the contacts are free of dust or debris.
Verify the battery is the correct 5.8mm x 2.15mm size and is oriented correctly for the polarity of the device.
To install, ensure your device is powered off. Open the battery compartment using a small precision screwdriver or the device-specific tool. Remove the depleted cell and insert the new Varta battery, noting that the flat side with text is usually the positive (+) terminal. Avoid touching the battery surfaces with bare fingers; use plastic tweezers to prevent skin oils from interfering with contact conductivity. Keep the battery in a cool, dry place until use, and dispose of the used cell at a designated battery recycling collection point.
