FAQs
What is the maximum weight capacity of the desk?
The Impulse Straight Desk is engineered to support a weight capacity of up to 135kg.
Can I use monitor arms with this desk?
Yes, the deep-set modesty panel design allows for the attachment of most standard screen clamp fittings.
How do I maintain the wood surface?
Use a damp cloth and mild cleaning solution to maintain the melamine finish. Avoid abrasive scrubbers to keep the surface scratch-free.
Does the desk include cable management?
Yes, the desk comes equipped with two dedicated cable ports on the surface to help manage wiring.
Is the assembly difficult?
The desk uses sturdy steel-to-steel fixings; due to the weight of the panels, it is recommended that two people perform the assembly.
Troubleshooting
Desk feels wobbly after assembly
Check the height-adjustable feet at the base of the wood panel legs and rotate them until the desk is level and all four points make solid contact with the floor.
Difficulty attaching a screen clamp
Ensure the modesty panel is correctly seated and check that the clamp is not hitting the structural reinforcement slots; if needed, shift the clamp slightly to the left or right of the slots.
Pros and Cons
Pros

- High weight capacity of 135kg
- Professional, clean aesthetic in a classic brown finish
- Compatible with most desk-mounted screen clamps
- Easy to level on uneven floors via adjustable feet
Cons

- Fixed pedestal design offers limited layout flexibility
- Basic aesthetic may not suit high-end executive offices
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Given the solid construction and use of wood panel legs, it is recommended to assemble the unit near its final location. Use the included steel-to-steel fixings to ensure all joints are tight. Ensure all four feet are adjusted so the desk sits flush against the floor to prevent long-term stress on the frame.
Compatibility: The desk is designed for standard office accessories. The cable ports accept most standard grommet-style cable management sleeves, and the modesty panel depth is specifically engineered to accommodate the clamping mechanisms of major monitor arm brands.
Care: The heat-resistant melamine surface can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive scouring pads, which could degrade the melamine finish or the ABS edging.
