Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Installation of these stair treads typically involves adhering them securely to existing stair structures. While the treads themselves are ready for installation, the method of attachment (e.g., using strong wood adhesive, screws, or a combination) will depend on the underlying stair material and desired permanence. Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and level before application. If using as a windowsill, appropriate brackets or a sturdy ledge will be necessary for support.
Compatibility:
These treads are designed to fit over most standard stair surfaces. Their solid oak material is compatible with most common wood finishes and adhesives. Compatibility with existing stair frames or risers is not guaranteed, as these are not included. Ensure your existing structure can support the added thickness and weight of the treads.
Care:
To maintain the natural beauty and longevity of the solid oak treads, regular cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended. Avoid abrasive cleaners or excessive moisture, which could damage the wood or varnish. For spills, wipe them up immediately. The light varnish provides some protection, but it is advisable to avoid placing extremely hot or wet items directly on the surface for extended periods.
