Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation requires securing the battery in a well-ventilated area using appropriate hold-down brackets, as AGM batteries are heavy. Ensure that all terminal connections are cleaned and tightened to prevent voltage drop and heat buildup. When charging, it is essential to use a battery charger with an 'AGM' or 'Deep Cycle' setting. Standard chargers may use a higher charging voltage that can permanently damage the sensitive chemistry of the AGM plates. During the off-season, store the battery in a cool, dry place and ensure it is fully charged before long-term storage to prevent self-discharge damage. Periodic checks of the state-of-charge are recommended if the battery remains idle for more than three months.
