Is Finish Dishwasher Salt safe for all dishwashers?

Yes, Finish Dishwasher Salt is designed to be compatible with all leading dishwasher brands.

Can I use regular table salt instead of Finish Dishwasher Salt?

No, regular table salt contains additives that can damage your dishwasher. Finish Dishwasher Salt is specifically designed for dishwashers.

What happens if I don't use dishwasher salt?

Without dishwasher salt, hard water minerals can build up in your dishwasher, leading to poor cleaning performance, water spots, and potentially damaging the appliance over time.

Where is the salt compartment located in my dishwasher?

The location of the salt compartment varies by dishwasher model. Consult your dishwasher's user manual for the exact location.

How much salt should I add to the compartment?

Fill the salt compartment to the top, ensuring it doesn't overflow. Your dishwasher manual will give you specific instructions.

Troubleshooting

Dishes still have water spots after using the salt.

Check the water hardness settings on your dishwasher and adjust accordingly. Ensure the salt compartment is full and the dishwasher detergent is suitable for your water conditions.

The dishwasher is leaving a salty residue on dishes.

Make sure you haven't overfilled the salt compartment. It may be necessary to adjust the water softener setting.
