FAQs

Can I feed this to my puppy?

No, this formula is specifically balanced for the nutritional needs of senior dogs aged 8+ and does not contain the calorie profile required for growing puppies.

Does this require refrigeration?

Unopened pouches are shelf-stable. Once opened, any unused portion must be refrigerated and consumed within 24 hours.

Can this be mixed with dry kibble?

Yes, Cesar Senior 8+ pouches are excellent as a meal topper to make kibble more palatable and easier to eat.

How many pouches should I feed per day?

Feeding amounts depend on your dog's weight and activity level; always consult the feeding guide on the outer packaging for specific daily caloric requirements.

What is the primary benefit of the jelly texture?

The jelly helps maintain moisture content and provides a softer mouthfeel, which is easier for older dogs with dental issues to consume comfortably.

Troubleshooting

Dog refuses to eat the new food

Ensure a gradual transition by mixing the new food with the previous diet over several days.

Pouch is difficult to open

Use kitchen shears if the tear notch is not providing enough leverage.

Stomach sensitivity after starting

Reduce the serving size slightly and mix with warm water or previous kibble to ease the digestion process.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Soft texture perfect for senior dogs with dental sensitivity
Balanced nutrition specifically for the aging metabolism
Easy-to-open portioned pouches
Variety of flavors to encourage healthy appetites
Can be fed as a standalone meal or as a kibble topper

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To serve, simply tear open the pouch and pour the contents into your dog's bowl. Because it is a complete, balanced food, no additional supplementation is required unless directed by a veterinarian. If transitioning your dog to this diet, do so gradually over 5-7 days to prevent digestive upset. Store unopened pouches in a cool, dry place. Once a pouch is opened, it should be served immediately; if not finished, store the remaining portion in a refrigerator and use within 24 hours.
