Full details

This is a self-assembly abstract 22-layer (2 turns) model kit of DNA (DeoxyriboNucleic Acid). The advanced miniDNA™ model is comprised of colour-coded, abstract-shaped parts designed to represent the nitrogenous bases, pentagonal sugar, and pyramidal phosphate components needed to make a double helix model of DNA. It features the 3 hydrogen bonds that connect Cytosine to Guanine and the 2 that connect Thymine to Adenine. It also represents the major and minor grooves on the surface of the double helix. The kit allows for simple differentiation of components by means of six easily distinguishable colours, and can be used to demonstrate DNA replication and complementary base pairing. The model is 440mm High.
