Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Preparation:
- Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose materials.
- Remove all decayed wood down to a dry, sound material.
- Allow damp wood to dry thoroughly before applying filler.
- Prime any metals (e.g., screw heads) with a metal paint primer before filling to avoid rust.
- Mixing:
- Add 2 to 2.5 parts Tetrion All Purpose Filler to 1 part water.
- Mix thoroughly to form a smooth paste, adding more water or powder as needed.
- Paste remains workable for up to 1 hour. Do not use excessive water when mixing.
- Use a stiffer mix with less water for wood, large repairs, or vertical surfaces.
- Application:
- Apply with a filler spreader and fill to a level just above the surrounding surface.
- Smooth off with a wet blade.
- Drying and Sanding:
- Setting occurs in about 2 hours, depending on atmospheric conditions.
- Hardened filler can be sanded to form a smooth finish.
- When carrying out deeper repairs (greater than 10mm), fill in layers and smooth the final layer with a wetted spreader.
- Painting:
- Over-paint with an oil-based paint when using externally.
- Prime with a suitable sealer when over-painting with a water-based paint.
- Storage:
- After use, fold over the sachet in the carton to prevent moisture from attacking the powder.
- Store in dry conditions and protect from frost.
Compatibility: Tetrion All Purpose Filler is compatible with most household materials, including plaster, wood, stone, brickwork, metal, and concrete.
Care: Clean tools immediately after use to prevent the filler from hardening. Store the product in a dry environment and protect it from frost.
