Setup, Compatibility & Care
This rose is supplied as an established plant in a 4L pot, ready for planting. Choose a location that receives full sun for best flowering. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the root ball and plant at the same depth it was in the pot. Water thoroughly after planting. The 'To Absent Friends' rose is compatible with most garden soils and can be planted alongside other shrubs and perennials in mixed borders. It also thrives in larger patio pots with good drainage.
Care Instructions:
- Watering: Water regularly, especially during dry periods, ensuring the soil remains moist but not waterlogged.
- Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring to remove dead or weak wood and to shape the plant. Aim to encourage an open center.
- Feeding: Apply a balanced rose fertilizer in spring as new growth appears.
- Seasonal Leaf Drop: Be aware that the plant will naturally lose its leaves from October to prepare for winter. Do not be alarmed; this is normal and it will regrow in spring.
