Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before beginning your project, it is highly recommended to pre-wash the fabric to account for any initial shrinkage. Use a cool to warm wash cycle and a low-heat setting for tumble drying to extend the life of the fibers. When cutting, ensure the gingham check is aligned perfectly on the grainline to prevent the pattern from appearing distorted in the final garment. The fabric is compatible with most standard sewing machines and does not require specialized feet or needles; however, a sharp needle is advised to ensure clean entry through the woven structure. Always press the fabric with a steam iron to achieve the signature crisp look associated with gingham projects.
