Product Information

Full details

The Trakker Tempest RS 150 Social Cap is an essential accessory for dedicated carp anglers who use the Tempest RS 150 shelter and require extra utility space. By adding a 1.2-meter porch area, it provides a dedicated zone for socialising or gear storage while significantly improving the shelter's thermal performance and moisture management. While it is a highly functional upgrade, it does increase the overall weight of your loadout and requires proper setup to ensure maximum tautness.

FAQs

Does this cap fit the standard Tempest 150 or only the RS version?

This Social Cap is specifically designed for the Trakker Tempest RS 150 model.

What is included with the purchase?

The package includes the Social Cap, a set of T-Pegs, a tension strap, and an Aquatexx zipped carry bag.

Can I leave the Social Cap attached when packing away the shelter?

While it is possible, it is recommended to detach the cap for easier storage and to prevent damage during transit.

How much weight does it add to my setup?

The Social Cap adds 5.70kg to your total transport weight.

Is the fabric fire retardant?

The Aquatexx fabric is designed for outdoor performance, but as with all fishing shelters, you should avoid using open flames or heating devices inside the structure.

What does the 25,000mm HH rating mean?

The Hydrostatic Head (HH) rating of 25,000mm indicates the level of water pressure the fabric can withstand before moisture penetrates it, representing a very high level of waterproofing.

Troubleshooting

The Social Cap feels slack or saggy

Adjust the integrated tension strap until the fabric is taut; ensure all anchor points are pegged correctly into the ground.

Internal condensation is still occurring

Open the twin side vents to improve air circulation and ensure the main shelter's vents are also unobstructed.

Difficulty zipping on the Infill Panel

Ensure the cap frame is properly aligned with the shelter frame to prevent tension misalignments that cause zipper misalignment.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly increases usable shelter space
Improves insulation and reduces condensation
High-grade waterproof performance with 25,000mm HH
Versatile ventilation options via roll-back sides
Durable, professional-grade material build

Cons

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up the Social Cap, attach the pre-formed aluminium frame to the front of the Tempest RS 150 following the included tensioning points. Ensure the cap is pulled taut using the supplied tension strap to prevent water pooling on the roof.

Compatibility: This product is specifically engineered for the Trakker Tempest RS 150. It is not designed to fit other shelter sizes.

Care Instructions:

Always ensure the cap is completely dry before storing it in the included Aquatexx zipped carry bag to prevent mildew.
Remove debris and mud from the fabric using a soft brush; avoid harsh chemicals that might compromise the waterproof coating.
Regularly inspect the aluminium poles for any signs of debris or damage to ensure smooth assembly.
