The Columbia Essential Hike 365 Hiking Trousers are designed for active men who need versatile, weather-resistant apparel for daily hikes, travel, and outdoor adventures. Their key benefit is the inclusion of Omni-Shield advanced repellency, which effectively sheds light rain, mud, and trail splashes to keep you clean and dry. While these trousers offer excellent utility for variable conditions, they are primarily intended for light-to-moderate moisture protection rather than heavy, prolonged downpours.

No, they are water-repellent. They are designed to shed light rain and splashes, but they are not fully waterproof for heavy rain.
These trousers are versatile, but they are not insulated. You may need to wear a thermal base layer underneath if you are hiking in near-freezing temperatures.
Wash with mild detergent and avoid fabric softeners. Tumble dry on a low setting to help maintain the effectiveness of the coating.
The D-ring is an external attachment point for small, lightweight gear like a key carabiner or a small trail accessory.
Yes, the hand pockets are zippered to ensure your items remain secure while you are active.
The Omni-Shield treatment may need to be refreshed. Tumble dry the garment on low heat to reactivate the repellency. If that fails, consider applying a garment-safe DWR spray.
Check the toggle for trapped grit or sand. Gently rinse the toggle area with water to clear any debris.
To ensure the best fit, utilize the integrated belt to fine-tune your waist measurement before heading out. If you are wearing bulky hiking boots, use the drawcord hem to ensure the cuffs are secured above your gear to prevent snagging. For care, wash the trousers in cold water on a gentle cycle. To maintain the Omni-Shield repellency, avoid using fabric softeners, as these can coat the fibers and interfere with the water-repellent treatment. Tumble dry on low heat; this can actually help rejuvenate the water-repellent finish on the fabric surface.
