A brick jointer is used to shape the mortar joints between bricks, creating a consistent and aesthetically pleasing finish that can also improve weather resistance.
The size of the jointer typically corresponds to the desired width and depth of the mortar joint. The 3/4in x 7/8in Ragni jointer is suitable for standard to slightly larger joints.
Yes, this jointer can be used with mortar for concrete blocks, provided the joint dimensions are compatible with the jointer's size.
Hardened steel provides increased durability and resistance to wear, ensuring the jointer maintains its shape and effectiveness over time, even with heavy use.
Radius ends mean the edges of the jointer are curved, which creates a smooth, concave (inward-curving) joint in the mortar, a common and desirable finish.
While effective, beginners may need some practice to achieve consistent results. The comfortable grip and design aim to make it user-friendly.
Clean off all mortar residue after use with water and a brush, dry thoroughly, and store in a dry place to prevent rust.
Ensure the jointer is slightly damp before use and clean it thoroughly with water immediately after each pass.
Maintain a consistent angle and pressure while moving the jointer along the mortar joint. Ensure mortar is at the correct consistency.
Experiment with different hand positions to find the most comfortable grip. Ensure the jointer is clean and free of debris that might affect grip.
Setup: No assembly is required. The tool is ready for immediate use.
Compatibility: This jointer is designed for use with standard mortar mixes and various types of bricks and blocks. The 3/4in x 7/8in size is specific for mortar joints within that approximate dimension.
Care: After each use, clean the jointer thoroughly with water and a brush to remove mortar residue. Dry completely before storing to prevent rust. Store in a dry environment. Periodically check the grip for any signs of wear.
