The Scheppach HL760LS Horizontal Log Splitter is an essential tool for homeowners who regularly prepare firewood, offering a significant labor-saving solution through its 7-tonne splitting force. It is best suited for individuals who need to process logs up to 52 cm long, providing a safe and ergonomic way to split wood at a steady rate. While it is a highly efficient machine for domestic use, users should be aware that its 2200W motor and hydraulic system require a dedicated power source and consistent maintenance to ensure optimal performance over time.

The HL760LS can handle logs up to 52 cm in length and 25 cm in diameter.
Yes, it requires a 2200W power supply; ensure your extension leads are heavy-duty to accommodate the motor's power needs.
Yes, but the machine uses a two-hand safety system, meaning you must keep both hands on the controls for the duration of the split.
It is strongly recommended to use the machine on a flat, solid, and level surface for stability and safety.
Regularly check the oil levels as indicated in the manual and ensure the area around the ram remains clean from debris.
The cage is a vital safety feature and should always be kept in place during operation to protect against flying debris.
Check the power supply connection and ensure the circuit breaker has not tripped due to the 2200W power draw.
Check hydraulic fluid levels and inspect the machine for air pockets in the system; ensure the ambient temperature is suitable for hydraulic operation.
Verify that the log diameter is within the 25 cm limit and that the wood is not excessively knotted or oversized for the 7-tonne capacity.
Setting up the unit involves assembling the base frame and ensuring the log splitter is placed on a flat, level surface to prevent tipping. The machine requires a standard 230V mains supply; ensure that the extension cables used are rated for the high power draw of a 2200W motor to prevent voltage drops. For maintenance, keep the steel frame clean of resin and wood debris, and regularly inspect the hydraulic fluid levels to ensure the cylinder operates smoothly. Always check that the safety cage is securely fastened before each use, and lubricate the ram guide rails if the movement begins to feel sluggish.
