Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility:
This Mahle OC467 oil filter is specifically designed for:
- Alpine vehicles
- Renault Scenic Mk1, Mk2, and Mk3 models
Always verify compatibility with your specific vehicle's make, model, and year before installation. Cross-reference part numbers if unsure.
Setup (Installation):
- Ensure the engine is cool before starting.
- Locate the existing oil filter on your vehicle.
- Using an oil filter wrench, carefully unscrew and remove the old filter. Be prepared for residual oil to spill.
- Clean the filter mounting surface on the engine block with a clean cloth.
- Lubricate the rubber seal on the new Mahle OC467 filter with a thin film of clean engine oil.
- Screw the new filter on by hand until the gasket makes contact with the mounting surface.
- Tighten the filter an additional 3/4 to 1 full turn by hand. Crucially, if using a wrench or if specified by the vehicle manufacturer, tighten to the recommended torque of 20 Nm. Over-tightening can damage the seal or filter, while under-tightening can lead to leaks.
- Refill the engine with the correct type and amount of oil.
- Start the engine and check for any leaks around the filter.
Care:
This is a disposable component and does not require user maintenance. It should be replaced at recommended service intervals, typically during each oil change, as specified by your vehicle manufacturer.
