FAQs

Can I travel with this battery on an airplane?

Yes, with a capacity of 98.872Wh, it generally falls under the 100Wh limit allowed for carry-on luggage by most international airlines, but always check your specific airline's policy.

How long does it take to fully charge the VB99?

Using a 100W PD charger, the battery can reach a full charge in approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.

Does this kit work with cameras other than those listed?

Yes, it is compatible with most devices that accept D-Tap, DC, or USB-C power inputs, provided you have the appropriate power adapter cables.

What is the function of the smart control button?

A long press allows you to force shut down all output ports (except D-TAP and BP) to put the battery into sleep mode to conserve power.

Is the V-Mount plate compatible with other batteries?

The 4064B plate is designed for standard V-mount connections, so it should be compatible with most industry-standard V-mount batteries.

Troubleshooting

Device is not outputting power

Check the OLED display to see if the port is active. Perform a long press on the smart control button to ensure the device is not in sleep mode.

Fast charging is not initiating

Ensure you are using a PD-compatible cable and wall adapter capable of supporting 100W output.

Plate is obstructing the camera screen

Loosen the rotation mechanism on the 4064B plate and adjust the angle of the battery mount to allow the screen to clear the battery housing.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Ultra-compact footprint for easier packing
Comprehensive safety certifications including CE, FCC, and RoHS
Highly informative OLED screen for power management
Versatile mounting options for professional rigs

Cons

Requires manual adjustment of the rotatable plate for specific camera clearance
More expensive than non-kit battery options
Weight may be significant for handheld gimbal setups

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up the kit, attach the rotatable V-Mount plate to your camera cage using the integrated mounting points. Ensure the plate is tightened securely to support the 5kg load limit. For power, use a high-quality USB-C cable for 100W charging to take advantage of the PowerADC technology. Compatibility is extensive, covering modern mirrorless systems like the Sony Alpha 7R V, FX30, and Panasonic GH6. For care, keep the battery terminals clean and dry. Avoid leaving the battery at 0% for extended periods; charge it at least once every three months if stored for long durations to maintain cell health. Always operate within recommended temperature ranges to prolong the lifespan of the LG lithium cells.
