It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core 1.7GHz ARM Cortex-A57 processor and comes with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM, expandable up to 16 GB. The device features a total installed storage capacity of 0 TB and runs on the QNAP Turbo System operating system. High-speed connectivity is provided by two 10GbE SFP+ ports and two 2.5GbE LAN RJ45 ports, supporting Port Trunking and Failover for network infrastructure reinforcement. The TS-832PX includes a PCIe Gen 2.0 slot for extending NAS functionality, allowing for the installation of QM2 cards for M.2 SSD caching and 10GbE connectivity, or a Wi-Fi 6 network card. It also supports various other PCIe cards for future upgrades. Data protection is enhanced through snapshots, which record the NAS system state and metadata, allowing for quick file restoration if accidental deletion, modification, or ransomware compromise occurs. The TS-832PX supports up to 256 snapshots per NAS and 64 snapshots per volume or LUN. The device facilitates multi-point file access and synchronization via SMB/CIFS, AFP, and NFS protocols, with Qsync utility turning the NAS into a secure data center for file synchronization across linked devices. Hybrid Backup Sync enables easy data backup and synchronization to other QNAP NAS, remote servers, or cloud storage like Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, and Dropbox. Smart AI photo management is available through QuMagie, which uses AI image recognition for facial recognition, subject identification, and geotagging, categorizing photos into People, Places, and Things albums. Cloud storage gateways, including HybridMount (file-based) and VJBOD Cloud (block-based), allow for seamless cloud integration with local caching for low-latency access to cloud data. File management is simplified with Qsirch for quick file searching using keywords and filters, and Qfiling for automated file organization. Secure remote access is possible via myQNAPcloud Link or VPN services. Storage capacity can be expanded by upgrading RAID, attaching expansion enclosures (TR-004, TR-002, TL-D800C, TL-D400S, TL-D800S), or migrating to a new NAS. Additional features include QVR Pro for surveillance, Notification Center for system alerts, and Security Counselor for security assessment and recommendations.
