- Remove and Cap: Once the lens is free, carefully remove it and immediately attach the front and rear lens caps to protect the glass elements and contacts.
Compatibility
This lens is designed for Canon EF mount cameras. It will work natively with Canon DSLRs that use the EF mount. It can also be used on Canon EOS R mirrorless cameras via a Canon EF-EOS R mount adapter.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning Lens Elements: Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth specifically designed for optics. For stubborn smudges, use a small amount of lens cleaning fluid applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens. Always use a blower brush first to remove dust and grit before wiping to avoid scratching.
- Cleaning Lens Body: Wipe the lens barrel with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
- Storage: When not in use, store the lens with both front and rear caps attached in a dry, dust-free environment, ideally in a padded camera bag or case. Avoid extreme temperatures and high humidity.
- Moisture Protection: If shooting in damp conditions, use a lens hood to offer some protection. If the lens gets wet, wipe it dry immediately with a clean cloth. If condensation forms, let it air dry naturally in a stable environment.
