Troubleshooting
Smoke alarm does not sound when TEST/MUTE button is pressed.
Ensure the 9V battery is correctly installed and has sufficient power. If the battery is old, replace it. Check that the alarm is properly seated on its mounting bracket.
Smoke alarm chirps intermittently.
This usually indicates a low battery. Replace the 9V battery. If the chirping continues after battery replacement, the unit may be nearing its end of life or there might be an environmental factor (e.g., high humidity, dust).
False alarms occur frequently.
Ensure the alarm is not located too close to cooking appliances, bathrooms with steamy showers, or areas with high humidity or excessive dust. Clean the unit as per the care instructions. Check the operating temperature range.
The unit fails the auto-check.
This indicates a malfunction. Try replacing the battery. If the problem persists, the unit may need to be replaced.
